About the position

The Financial Reporting Staff Accountant at Sinclair plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of SEC filings, including quarterly and annual financial reports. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage deadlines effectively in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist team with timely and accurate preparation of SEC filings, involving quarterly and annual financial reports, proxy statements, 401K statements, and other regulatory filings, as necessary.
• Prepare various schedules and variance analysis to be used by management, the board of directors, and independent auditors.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly close schedules.
• Perform controls around financial reporting activities.

Requirements

• At least 1-3 years of experience in financial reporting, corporate accounting, or public accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification is a plus.
• Experience with U.S. GAAP.
• Strong aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Desire and ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with others.
• Proficient or advanced in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with Oracle is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization.
