About the position

As a Financial Representative Trainee, you will engage in a structured program aimed at developing the skills necessary for selling Individual Insurance products. This role combines self-study with hands-on projects, preparing you for a successful career as a Financial Representative.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a comprehensive program to develop skills for providing holistic financial advice to clients.
  • Contribute to classroom discussions and participate in goal-setting sessions and progress evaluations.
  • Demonstrate appropriate skills and pass a sales process competency test.
  • Gain direct sales experience in marketing Individual Insurance products to clients.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners.
  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of product offerings and demonstrate expertise in their features and benefits.
  • Oversee the completion of content, proposals, and paperwork flow throughout the field and Home Office.

Requirements

  • Ability to successfully achieve criteria of Trainee Program.
  • Ability to pass and apply for appropriate insurance licenses within 14 days of entry into the job, with a maximum of 2 attempts at the Life and Health exam.
  • Must pass the CRD/FINRA background check at hire and ongoing, as the training program requires Financial Representatives to obtain securities licensing within 24 months.
  • Highly self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the work period, hold and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license, and have access to reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the Insurance/Financial Services industry, products, and marketing practices.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred but not required.

Benefits

  • Hourly wage of $16/hour for up to 30 days as a trainee.
  • Promotion to a Financial Representative with a $36,000 annual base plus monthly sales incentive opportunity after successful completion of licensing and onboarding requirements.
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Up to 15 days of vacation each year for regular associates working 40 hours a week.
  • 11 paid holidays in 2024, including 2 floating holidays.
  • Sick leave through personal time, with up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, prorated based on the start date.
