About the position

The Financial Risk Program Manager role at Amazon involves overseeing internal controls over financial reporting and compliance activities. This contract position is part of the Global Financial Risk and Controls (GFRC) Team, focusing on enhancing internal control frameworks and driving process improvement initiatives across the organization. The role requires collaboration with various departments to ensure robust controllership practices and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Execute on controls strategies
• Drive control design and implementation with cross-functional teams
• Contribute to in-depth analyses of process areas to identify risks and controls related to financial reporting
• Ensure the presence of adequate controls over critical components of the ecosystem
• Advise on and design controls and compliance programs
• Provide continuous support to process owners/control owners and cross-functional teams for effective control implementation
• Participate in annual walkthroughs with stakeholders across the company and external auditors
• Support the quarterly 302 sub-certification process and related reporting
• Assist in evaluating control deficiencies and monitoring remediation efforts
• Aid in system implementation, migration, and SDLC controls

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of COSO 2013 framework and SEC/PCAOB regulations
• Ability to design and monitor an effective global risk-based internal control environment
• Previous experience in similar roles at large public companies or Big 4 public accounting firms serving Fortune 500 clients for 5+ years
