About the position

The Financial Sales Manager I - Business Development position is a pivotal role within the branch location, responsible for managing sales efforts and overseeing branch operations with the assistance of an operations specialist. This position primarily focuses on outbound calling activities aimed at generating new business opportunities. The manager will also collaborate with business or commercial bankers to provide expertise regarding business deposits and related services, ensuring that the branch meets its financial goals while delivering exceptional customer service. In this role, the manager will be tasked with team management, which includes overseeing performance and personnel functions for the sales team. This involves ensuring operational soundness while executing a strategic plan that delivers results, creates value for customers, and meets the financial expectations of the bank. The manager will drive accountability by providing one-on-one feedback and coaching to support associate development and achievement of results. Regular collaboration with bank partners and other managers will be essential to leverage expertise and enhance team performance. Sales performance is a critical aspect of this position, where the manager will be expected to achieve individual and team financial, production, and relationship results based on specific metrics and goals. Engaging with customers, prospects, and referral sources through proactive outreach is vital, as is representing the bank in the community by participating in civic events to generate additional business and identify potential Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) opportunities. The manager will engage in sales practices that align with the bank's commitment to creating value for both customers and the organization. Service standards are also a key focus, as the manager will foster collaborative partnerships that deliver value for customers and colleagues. This includes initiating conversations to uncover sales or referral opportunities, listening attentively to customer needs, and taking prompt actions to address those needs. The manager will seek to optimize performance by pursuing coaching opportunities and leveraging tools to enhance sales activities. Operational and administrative responsibilities include compliance with all regulations, bank policies, and procedures to manage risks related to credit, operational, reputational, regulatory, and legal aspects of customer interactions and transactions. The manager will also be responsible for general office management duties to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy in transactions.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Sales, customer service, or lending, or financial services sales, including supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Sales, customer service, or lending, or financial services sales, including supervisory experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and complete federal registration and annual renewal as required by the SAFE Act.
  • Application of a structured sales process and providing financial guidance and expertise.
  • Financial literacy and financial analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of retail banking products and services.
  • Business development skills and ability to network and build centers of influence.
