About the position

The Financial Securities Business Analyst role focuses on ensuring the accurate migration of financial securities data from an Oracle database to a Snowflake environment. This position requires expertise in business rules validation, advanced SQL, and a deep understanding of financial securities to maintain data integrity and compliance throughout the migration process.

Responsibilities

• Verify adherence to business rules, data transformations, and calculations in the Snowflake environment.
• Ensure alignment and consistency of financial securities data between Oracle and Snowflake, including precision, formatting, and financial metrics.
• Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies between Oracle and Snowflake datasets.
• Validate data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Define and validate test cases to ensure migration aligns with business logic requirements.
• Write and execute SQL scripts to verify data accuracy and transformations.
• Analyze test outcomes and recommend resolutions for identified issues.
• Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to capture and implement business logic requirements.
• Maintain detailed documentation of validation processes, test outcomes, and identified issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in financial data, data migrations, or database management.
• In-depth knowledge of financial securities (e.g., equities, bonds, derivatives).
• Proficiency in Oracle and Snowflake databases.
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization.
• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with Oracle-to-Snowflake migrations and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of data governance, regulatory compliance, and financial market frameworks.
• Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data validation.
