About the position

The Financial Service Representative (FSR) role at Triangle Credit Union involves assisting members and potential members with their financial needs, providing expertise in various Credit Union services such as IRAs, certificates of deposit, and consumer lending. The FSR is responsible for welcoming members, processing transactions, opening new accounts, and ensuring member satisfaction through effective service and sales strategies. This position requires maintaining confidentiality and accuracy while meeting sales goals and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and complete transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Open accounts for new members and identify their needs while maintaining confidentiality.
• Stay current on products and services through ongoing training.
• Utilize knowledge of products and services to grow membership and enhance member loyalty.
• Meet annual sales goals and maintain confidentiality regarding member information.
• Interview applicants to gather data for loan applications and work towards closing loans.
• Input consumer loan applications and close loans with supervision.
• Respond to all telephone and email correspondences on the same day they are received.
• Complete IRA and CD transactions and handle teller transactions as needed.
• Maintain appropriate records and prepare required reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous member/customer service or financial service experience required.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Previous lending experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education desired.
• Strong interpersonal skills for conflict resolution and relationship building.
• Sales acumen and strong computer skills.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively.
• Organizational skills and basic math skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
