About The Position

The Financial Services Officer plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to members of the credit union by processing transactions and informing them about available services. This position focuses on understanding member needs, facilitating loan applications, and ensuring compliance with regulations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

• Two to five years of similar or related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with ten-key calculator and general PC and computer keyboarding.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members and respond to complaints.
• Strong, friendly voice and demeanor with good diction.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations with American currency.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a financial services environment.
• Knowledge of consumer credit products and services.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information and attracts potential members for new services by interviewing them and completing necessary paperwork.
• Engages appropriate staff in the decision-making process to expedite member requests.
• Delivers decisions to members regarding loan approvals, denials, or counter offers, explaining terms and conditions clearly.
• Participates in sales development activities and keeps informed of current trends in consumer credit.
• Maintains account records by updating member information as necessary.
• Cross-sells credit union services while directly serving members and answering inquiries.
• Engages in problem resolution by clarifying complaints and determining the best solutions.
• Complies with UKFCU policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending seminars and reviewing professional publications.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing corporate and individual goals.
