About the position
The Financial Services Supervisor at Cedars-Sinai is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned areas within Patient Financial Services. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising staff to ensure high-quality service delivery while maintaining fiscal responsibility. The Supervisor will guide a team of at least eight employees, participate in budget preparations, and ensure compliance with medical center policies and regulations. The position emphasizes customer relations, staff development, and achieving financial goals related to accounts receivable and cash collections.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily operations for assigned areas.
- Participate in unit budget preparations and fiscal responsibility.
- Serve as a liaison with medical staff, including physicians.
- Promote employee growth and development.
- Participate in strategic planning for the department.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal laws and regulations.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage administrative functions.
- Monitor staff timekeeping and ensure appropriate compensation.
- Interface with departments to resolve patient accounting issues.
- Review and report on overall productivity and service quality indicators.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of billing and collections supervisory experience required.
- Experience in physician billing highly preferred.
