About the position

VSolvit is seeking a qualified Financial Systems Analyst II to provide comprehensive financial analysis and support for NSWC PHD. This role involves budget preparation, funds tracking, and ensuring accurate financial reporting while adhering to established business practices. The position requires advanced Excel skills and the ability to work independently across multiple projects and divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Possess advanced MS Excel skills including linking and embedding multiple spreadsheets, developing and manipulating pivot tables, and creating and editing macros.
  • Work independently to provide professional financial analysis and tracking for multiple branches, divisions, and projects.
  • Develop budget analyses and recommendations and present findings to management.
  • Create network activities and run reports, processing labor and non-labor transfers according to established practices.
  • Process and integrate data using established business practices and approved software applications.
  • Support the processing of incoming and outgoing funding documents.
  • Verify the accuracy of accounting data within the financial system.
  • Assist with financial transaction reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with departments to gather and review supporting documents for fund management.
  • Conduct follow-up actions for funding documentation.
  • Ensure funding document packages are complete and organized.
  • Assist program analysts with tasking and data calls.
  • Analyze, extract, and identify significant trends from financial spreadsheets.
  • Maintain and update logs and spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business discipline and 3+ years of directly related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, 5 years of hands-on experience with Navy financial and administrative systems.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial and quantitative analysis, particularly with MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Knowledge or experience in the DoD or Government environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with N-ERP reports and modules.
  • Experience with U.S. Navy and NSWC PHD processes and systems.
