About the position

The Financial System Analyst position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), specifically within the Office of Finance and Treasury (OFT) and the Central Collections Unit (CCU). The role focuses on the financial analysis of delinquent debts assigned to CCU by various agencies throughout the District, serving as a liaison between CCU and these agencies. The incumbent will be responsible for organizing agency debts, developing collection strategies, monitoring receivables, and preparing various financial reports.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing all District agency debts assigned to CCU and identifying collection issues.
  • Determining appropriate resolutions for collection issues.
  • Assisting with the development of collection strategies and monitoring receivables.
  • Preparing daily, monthly, and annual CCU collection statistics.
  • Evaluating receivables and reconciling outstanding receivables with agencies.
  • Preparing related reports and serving as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative for the Office of Contracts and outsourced collection agencies.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of progressive experience in financial analysis, compiling data, and preparing financial reports.
  • Experience in developing debt collection strategies and evaluating accounts receivables.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and controls.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with 12 semester hours in accounting.
