About the position

The Financial Systems Analyst position at ADM in Decatur, IL is a full-time, exempt role within the Financial Systems Support team, which is part of the Record to Report (R2R) organization. This team plays a crucial role in providing support to various R2R accounting teams by troubleshooting issues with current processes, administering several financial applications, and enhancing existing accounting processes. The applications supported by this team include Hyperion and Blackline, which are essential for financial reporting and accounting operations. In this role, the analyst will be expected to provide fast-paced support during the accounting close period. This includes addressing errors in Excel files, troubleshooting issues with automated processes, and assisting with security-related concerns. The analyst will collaborate closely with the accounting organization to gather requirements and develop solutions aimed at continuous improvement. Additionally, the role involves implementing solutions for quick win requests and providing system administration support for financial applications. The position requires a high degree of independence, as the analyst will work with minimal supervision. Furthermore, the analyst will interact with both internal and external auditors to fulfill audit requests, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between accounting needs and technical support, making it essential for the analyst to possess a strong understanding of both accounting principles and IT processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast-paced support during the accounting close period, addressing errors in Excel files and troubleshooting automated processes.
• Assist with security issues related to financial applications.
• Work with the accounting organization to gather requirements and develop solutions for continuous improvement ideas.
• Develop and implement solutions for 'quick win' requests.
• Provide system administration support for financial applications.
• Work independently with little supervisor intervention.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide audit request items.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel; experience with VBA/macros is a major plus.
• Comfortable querying SQL databases; experience in building and maintaining tables within a SQL database is a major plus.
• Knowledge of accounting concepts and practices; experience applying this knowledge is a plus.
• Strong ownership over work, independent problem-solving ability, and an innovative mindset.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Hyperion or other large ERP systems.
• Experience in both accounting and IT to efficiently act as a liaison between accounting teams and the tech team's support capabilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other reporting tools.
