About the position

As a Financial Systems Analyst at American Systems Corporation, you will play a crucial role within the Maritime Lifecycle & Readiness Division, providing essential financial management support to various branches, offices, organizations, or departments. In your role, you will be responsible for advising and providing technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets, measuring organizational performance, and assessing the impact of various programs and policies on the budget. You will examine budget estimates for completeness and accuracy, employing cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests and assess program tradeoffs. Additionally, you will research economic and financial developments that affect the organization's spending and develop guidelines and policies for budget formulation and maintenance. Your responsibilities will also include managing finances across multiple funding types, tracking budgets, costs, and variances, and producing executive summaries. You will conduct financial reporting and analyses on financial issues and customer requirements, developing and proposing courses of action and recommendations for financial issues. Furthermore, you will interpret and apply financial management principles, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and organizational strategic goals. Data entry into government-approved systems for obligation and procurement will also be part of your duties, utilizing systems such as the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning or Standard Procurement System.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial management support for a branch, office, organization, or department.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Measure organizational performance; assess the effects of various programs and policies on the budget.
  • Examine budget estimates or proposals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
  • Employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods.
  • Examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments that affect the organization's spending.
  • Develop guidelines and policies governing the formulation and maintenance of budgets.
  • Conduct training sessions for company or government agency personnel regarding new budget procedures.
  • Coordinate financial activities across various stakeholders.
  • Manage finances across multiple funding types. Track budgets, costs, and variances.
  • Produce executive summaries.
  • Conduct financial reporting and analyses on financial issues and customer requirements.
  • Develop and propose courses of actions (COAs) and recommendations for financial issues.
  • Interpret and apply financial management principles.
  • Apply financial management processes, techniques, policies, regulations and organizational strategic goals.
  • Enter financial data into government approved systems for obligation and procurement.

Requirements

  • Secret Clearance
  • Bachelors Degree
  • At least 5+ years relevant experience in budgeting, briefing, and defense at the Chief of Naval Operations and Congressional levels.
  • Strong communication and briefing skills at the SES/Flag Level.
