About the position

As a Financial Systems Analyst at Merchants Automotive Group, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our financial systems and processes. This position is part of the Financial Planning, Analysis & Consulting (FPAC) team, where you will collaborate with leaders across the company to ensure accurate accounting and reporting. Your responsibilities will include spearheading process improvements, managing successful projects, and becoming a go-to expert in our internal systems. You will work in a hybrid environment, spending three days a week onsite in Hooksett, NH, which allows for a balance of collaboration and flexibility in your work schedule. In this role, you will serve as a liaison between the Business and IT departments to ensure that system postings are accurate. You will identify and implement process improvements and automation to streamline operations and minimize errors. Additionally, you will develop and enhance reporting to meet business needs, support annual audit requirements, and assist with month-end closing and financial reporting. Your contributions to special projects will also be valued, making you an integral part of the team. We are looking for a tech-savvy learner who is quick to grasp new technologies and systems. The ideal candidate will be a multi-tasker, able to juggle multiple tasks independently while meeting deadlines. Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential for problem-solving in this role. Effective interpersonal and communication skills will help you collaborate with various stakeholders, while excellent organizational and time management skills will ensure your success in this fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must, and experience with Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between Business and IT departments to ensure system postings are accurate.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation to streamline operations and minimize errors.
  • Develop and enhance reporting to meet business needs.
  • Be proficient in Merchants Fleet's internal systems.
  • Support annual audit requirements and assist with month-end closing and financial reporting.
  • Contribute to special projects as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in public/private accounting or financial systems with a deep understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience with lessor accounting and familiarity with Great Plains Dynamics, Blackline, or Planful is a plus.
  • B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Power BI is a plus.
