About the position

The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of financial applications within the organization. This role involves collaborating with team members, IT, and vendor support teams to ensure the financial systems operate effectively. The analyst will troubleshoot issues, manage user requests, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, particularly in relation to SOX controls.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to identify issues, analyze options, and provide solutions for the company.
  • Act as the key point of contact for financial application support issues.
  • Communicate with SCI end users, contractors, and vendors to troubleshoot financial systems issues.
  • Perform, execute, and monitor appropriate audit controls as necessary.
  • Participate in new system upgrades, including learning, documentation, testing, and execution of upgrades or patches.
  • Prepare reports, perform analysis, and evaluate opportunities for a more stable financial system environment.
  • Assist in identifying best practices through process reviews.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with various departments.
  • Escalate obstacles/issues to meet timelines and deliverables.
  • Report project status according to prescribed timelines.
  • Monitor interface emails and results to ensure proper distribution or consumption of interface files.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with IT Interface teams to troubleshoot or monitor interface execution and performance.
  • Manage issue tracking, user requests, and troubleshoot user management issues.
  • Create users and roles while adhering to strict user management guidelines.
  • Perform SOX controls and necessary reporting to ensure compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a directly related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a functional analyst, technical analyst, or business analyst role.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and oral forms.
  • Knowledge of operational business processes and systems.
  • Proficiency in software programs, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement.
  • Good leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Basic understanding of databases and standard file layouts for conversions and interfaces.
