About the position

The Financial Systems Analyst position at BorgWarner involves managing and supporting Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) applications to meet internal and external financial reporting needs. The role includes assisting in the implementation of the OneStream solution while maintaining existing Hyperion applications. The analyst will collaborate with various business functions to enhance processes and user experience, ensuring compliance and data integrity throughout financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing development, maintenance, and administration of the EPM applications.
  • Maintain user security and access rights.
  • Troubleshoot systems issues as they arise and provide timely solutions and feedback.
  • Create custom reports, dashboards, and workflows in the EPM application.
  • Build relationships with functional teams within the organization and provide support, answer system-related questions, and resolve concerns and issues.
  • Understand and interpret business requirements and effectively implement solutions.
  • Provide assistance to Corporate Accounting and FP&A teams with forecast and monthly close, as well as external and management reporting.
  • Lead meetings and provide strategic vision to any technical concerns.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures, desk manuals, training materials, and supporting documents.
  • Provide end-user training and support global users with systems-related questions.
  • Maintain effective internal controls associated with the system.
  • Ensure SOX compliance by documenting systems and security changes.
  • Support internal and external audits while ensuring data integrity and timeliness.
  • Be an integral team member to support the implementation of the OneStream solution.
  • Enhance understanding of system functionalities and stay up to date with new releases for potential areas of improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting/Finance/IT.
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Systems and Technology Solutions with 5+ years of relevant experience including 3+ years system maintenance experience.
  • Experience working with OneStream or HFM, Planning, FDMEE applications and maintenance of metadata, business rules, and reports.
  • Proficient in MS Office and SmartView/Quick View.
  • Familiar with scripting languages such as Visual Basic and Python.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and good understanding of Financial close process to support Actual, Forecast, and Budget reporting.
  • Flexible problem-solving skills, with ability to 'connect the dots' even in areas outside one's primary subject matter expertise.
  • Effective communicator with ability to translate and present complex issues and solutions to support both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A visionary with ability to utilize experience and systems knowledge to streamline and improve processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work in a deadline-driven environment with attention to detail.
  • Team player with the ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
