About the position

The Financial Systems Analyst role is focused on managing and enhancing financial reporting systems, particularly using Cognos Analytics and Deltek products. The analyst will be responsible for writing and maintaining reports, ensuring data security, and providing system administration support. This position requires collaboration with various functional teams to translate business needs into effective reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Write new Cognos Business Intelligence Reports in Cognos Analytics 11.x using Deltek CER and data modules after completing the report requirements assessment.
  • Edit, update, and troubleshoot existing reports.
  • Create and maintain user accounts and access.
  • Maintain and enhance security of Cognos Reports Server and reports.
  • Automate project and management reports using Cognos.
  • Create scheduled reports to support management reporting.
  • Conduct Quarterly Security Access Reviews for internal and external audits.
  • Provide expertise in data visualization, dashboard creation, and report generation.
  • Manage user setup, security, and other configurations for Costpoint, Deltek Time & Expense, Cognos, and supporting systems/tools.
  • Support Costpoint upgrade and collaborate with the hosting infrastructure team to test bug fixes, patches, and software updates.
  • Advocate change control and issue resolution processes, including managing support tickets with Deltek and NeoSystems.
  • Work with accounting and finance teams to understand and translate business requests into industry-standard solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Systems team and consultants on upcoming financial systems projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience with writing Cognos Business Intelligence Reports in Cognos Analytics 11.x
  • 5+ years of functional experience administering Deltek Costpoint Core modules
  • 5+ years Project, People, and Deltek Time & Expense experience
  • 5 years of functional expertise and deep understanding of Deltek Products
  • 5 years of Costpoint, Time & Expense across multiple modules
  • 3+ years BI Report writing experience with Deltek Cognos Reports
  • 3+ years at writing new and editing existing reports using Cognos Analytics 10 or 11 with the Deltek CER framework
  • Basic understanding of SQL coding for report datasets, including comfort with using SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience with and understanding of the nature of government contractors and effective communication within it
  • Technical experience working with Dashboards and Data Module, knowledge of Framework Manager is a plus
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with different functional roles.
