About the position

The Financial Systems Analyst position within the Department of Defense is responsible for analyzing, developing, documenting, and evaluating complex process and system requirements for financial management. The role involves coordinating responses to audit documentation requests and ensuring adherence to enterprise-wide processes and procedures. The analyst will work closely with various organizations to document and recommend changes to improve auditability and efficiency in financial management processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop complex process and system requirements for financial management.
• Coordinate responses to audit documentation requests as a liaison between auditors and Finance Points of Contact (POCs).
• Ensure adherence to enterprise-wide processes and procedures and document business rules.
• Capture instances of problems encountered by end users and recommend solutions.
• Document and recommend changes to processes to improve auditability.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in financial management processes.
• Skill in using SAP-based financial systems and data analytics tools.
• Ability to interpret financial management guidelines and procedures.
• Experience in gathering data to respond to audit requests.
• Skill in writing documentation describing processes of data query/input/extraction.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with financial management systems in a federal or military context.
• Familiarity with compliance assessments and audit processes.
