As a Financial Systems Functional Analyst at Community Transit, you will play a crucial role in developing and modifying automated accounting, procurement, inventory management, and other financial systems. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze user and operational needs, assisting users in effectively utilizing these systems and resolving work-related issues. You will evaluate system performance and make recommendations for improvements, ensuring system integrity, accuracy, and controls. This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining reports, downloading data, and creating complex spreadsheets, as well as planning major installations and upgrades or system replacements that support the entire agency. Additionally, you will be responsible for training and mentoring department staff on system usage and representing Accounting, Procurement, Parts, and Grants in the selection and implementation of new systems. You may also perform professional accounting and financial analysis tasks as required. In this role, you will take a lead position in the Finance and Administration department for the selection and implementation of new ERP systems, ensuring that the requirements of accounting, procurement, parts, and grants management functions are met. You will manage financial systems by overseeing systems administration, programming, and system fixes, acting as a liaison with IT personnel for technical aspects of financial systems. Collaboration with vendors, consultants, and IT staff will be essential to identify, test, and troubleshoot system problems and errors, implementing and testing necessary corrections. You will also develop criteria for systems, system design, budget, testing methods, quality standards, and completion, while researching and analyzing data for special requests. Your role will require you to identify, investigate, and analyze system errors or unusual variances, implementing process improvements and addressing technical challenges. You will customize or update all affected systems to reflect necessary changes related to governmental accounting standards, state and federal tax laws, and other regulations affecting the agency. Additionally, you will mentor staff in using accounting, grants, and procurement systems, assist with diagnosing and resolving complex problems, and develop documentation and deliver end-user training for these systems. Working with data integration and interfaces between accounting, procurement, grants, and systems outside of the department will also be part of your responsibilities, as will collaborating with stakeholders from other departments to optimize systems functionality.
