About the position

The Financial Systems Senior Manager (FS Senior Manager) is responsible for overseeing a team that provides business support, reporting, and analytic solutions for financial systems and business process integrations. This role focuses on managing strategic investments, ensuring successful project completions, and transferring system knowledge across the organization. The FS Senior Manager drives financial system initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency while maintaining system standards and strategies. This position is crucial for facilitating accurate financial reporting and analysis, implementing new functionalities, and leading system support post-implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage a team providing business support and analytic solutions for financial systems.
  • Implement financial system initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Drive and participate in the growth of cross-functional business owners and managers.
  • Facilitate accurate and efficient financial reporting and analysis using various financial systems.
  • Manage projects effectively, including directing cross-functional teams and tracking project tasks.
  • Ensure documentation meets project deliverables and schedules.
  • Supervise and mentor Financial Systems Manager or Analyst.
  • Lead the gathering of functional requirements for approved projects.
  • Communicate effectively with business owners and management regarding system capabilities and limitations.
  • Manage the deployment of existing finance systems to other firms.
  • Coordinate problem resolution related to disaster recovery and reporting.
  • Document and share financial system insights with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage configuration, enhancements, security, reporting, training, and user support of financial systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Ten years of experience working with financial systems required with a degree; fifteen years without a degree.
  • Five years of supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Proficient in PeopleSoft Financials preferred.
  • Strong technical and data analysis skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working within a professional services firm, such as accounting or financial services preferred.
  • Proficient in Business Intelligence Reporting Tools (Hyperion, COGNOS, Business Objects) preferred.
