About the position
LSI is seeking a full-time Spanish Bilingual Fingerprint Associate to join its Refugee and Immigrant Services team in Des Moines, IA. This role involves performing fingerprinting for sponsors of unaccompanied minors, managing appointments, and providing support for various human trafficking assistance programs. The Associate will work closely with clients and sponsors, ensuring timely and efficient service while also contributing to the overall mission of assisting refugees and survivors of human trafficking.
Responsibilities
- Perform fingerprinting for sponsors of unaccompanied minors.
- Arrange appointments with sponsors and maintain an up-to-date calendar of fingerprint appointments.
- Answer phone calls and emails requesting appointments.
- Assist sponsors in completing necessary paperwork for fingerprinting.
- Handle walk-in sponsors according to the fingerprint calendar.
- Conduct initial screenings for TVAP/ASPIRE trafficking victims assistance programs.
- Refer potential applicants to immigration attorneys for further evaluation.
- Support refugees applying for Authorization of Relationship (AOR) documents.
- Assist other departments as requested by Service Manager or supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of related experience in customer service or human services.
- Fluency in Spanish to meet client needs.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
- One year of related experience in human services or safe release services.
- Experience with fingerprinting or data management.
