About the position

The Associate I position at Sauder Manufacturing Co. involves manual application of finishes and stains on wood parts, ensuring quality through inspection and sanding processes. The role requires physical stamina and attention to detail, as well as the ability to follow safety guidelines and instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Manually apply finish and stain to wood parts.
• Prep and inspect parts before finishing.
• Hang and remove parts from the production line.
• Conduct quality inspections of finished products.
• Sand wood parts to prepare for finishing.
• Perform sealer sanding as required.

Requirements

• Lift overhead up to 25 lbs.
• Regularly lift, maneuver, and position products up to 50 lbs.
• Detail-oriented with a good eye for color matching.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for the full shift.
• Capable of reading, writing, and following both written and verbal instructions.
• Proficient in using hand-held power tools with accuracy and precision.
• Ability to assist in training new employees.
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous finishing experience is preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to wear and use respiratory protection.
