About the position
The position involves skilled carpentry work focused on building and installing various types of cabinets and architectural details in residential and commercial settings. The role requires precision in measuring and cutting materials, as well as collaboration with other tradespeople to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Building and installing cabinets, such as kitchen cabinets and under-stair cabinets
- Installing crown molding, baseboards, doors, window trims, and custom cabinets
- Installing stair railings, wainscoting, door trim, and other final touches
- Measuring, cutting, and installing various fixtures and millwork
- Collaborating with other carpenters, journeymen, and supervisors to complete projects
- Troubleshooting and repairing issues with building components and equipment
- Following established regulations and advocating for safety on each worksite
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry and cabinet installation
- Strong measuring and cutting skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
