This position will be responsible for hand belt grinding various airfoil shapes to their finish contour and dimension, deburring parts, and performing finishing operations that include sizing and finishing platform radii and surfaces, radius chords, polishing operation, and breaking sharp edges as required. The role also involves inspection of airfoil contour, location, twist, t-max edges dimensions, and platform dimensions as required. The Finisher/Polisher will work on parts that have closer tolerances and more complex shapes, qualify new airfoil setups, and determine proper belting and polishing procedures for new part numbers.
Responsibilities
- Hand belt grinding various airfoil shapes to their finish contour and dimension
- Deburring parts
- Sizing and finishing platform radii and surfaces, radius chords, polishing operation, and breaking sharp edges as required
- Inspection of airfoil contour, location, twist, t-max edges dimensions, and platform dimensions as required
- Working on parts that have closer tolerances and more complex shapes
- Qualifying new airfoil setups
- Determining proper belting and polishing procedures for new part numbers
Requirements
- 1+ years experience in Hand finishing/polishing/deburring
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- Skilled with inspection of close tolerances and complex shaped parts
- Experience working with airfoils or aerospace parts is ideal
- Skilled in exercising initiative and discretion to help achieve organizational objectives
