As a Finishing Technician at Williams Sonoma, you will play a crucial role in the production of Rejuvenation lighting and hardware products. Your primary responsibility will be to execute various tasks within the finishing department, with a strong emphasis on painting operations utilizing High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) application equipment. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards throughout the finishing process. In this role, you will prepare surfaces and apply coatings to a diverse range of products and parts using standard methods. The primary applications will involve lacquer and polymer paint on brass and aluminum components, ensuring that each piece meets the required specifications. You will be responsible for organizing, moving, hanging, and preparing parts daily for painting, which includes essential duties such as proper paint preparation, sandblasting, grinding, buffing, and chemical treatment to achieve the desired surface finish. Safety is paramount in this position, and you will be expected to understand and adhere to safety practices relevant to industrial painting. You will perform painting, spraying, lacquering, and powder coating applications while utilizing all machinery and tools safely and effectively. Additionally, you will conduct in-line quality checks to ensure that established quality standards are consistently maintained. Scheduled maintenance on designated equipment will also be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with associates and teams to contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, ensuring efficient and accurate order completion while resolving any issues that may arise. Flexibility is important, as you may be assigned to other functional areas based on business needs and demand levels. Physically, this role requires you to be on your feet for extended periods, engaging in activities such as standing, walking, talking, and hearing. You must be capable of frequently moving, pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
