About the position
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Helper to assist with the installation and checkout of various systems. This role involves working with electrical tools, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and developing positive customer relationships to ensure satisfaction with system installations.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes electrical tools and meters.
- Aids with conduit & wire installation.
- Assists with device installation (i.e., fire alarm/security devices).
- Assists with installation of fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Complies with standards and procedures of industry and Sciens safety programs/policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license & reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
- Ability to work independently with some supervision.
- Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime & out of town, if needed.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
- Physically fit to perform demanding work, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Nice-to-haves
- Interest in learning and growing in the fire-life safety industry.
- Ability to learn and safely use standard trade tools.
- Ability to travel occasionally overnight, as needed.
