About the position

Convergint is seeking a full-time Fire Alarm Technician who will be responsible for installing, programming, testing, and servicing fire alarm systems. This role involves working on various projects, including complex installations, and requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction. The technician will also provide training and technical support to customers, ensuring that Convergint remains their preferred service provider.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repair, and service fire alarm systems and related equipment.
• Perform system start-up/check-out, testing, commissioning, and customer training.
• Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine installation procedures.
• Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Operate systems to demonstrate equipment and analyze performance.
• Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation.
• Execute technical aspects of multiple projects including programming and customer training.
• Identify potential project risks and assist in developing strategies to minimize impact.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate specific projects and recommend quality improvements.

Requirements

• High School/GED or equivalent experience.
• Local/State Electrical License.
• NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems.
• Experience programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning fire alarm systems.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate degree in Electronics or related field.
• 3-5 years relevant field service experience.
• EST3 & 4 Certification.
