About the position

CertaSite, LLC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Sales Engineer to join our dynamic sales team in Dayton, Ohio. This role is pivotal in promoting our technologically advanced fire alarm products and services to both new and existing customers. As a Sales Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise to articulate the benefits of our solutions, ensuring that clients understand how our offerings can meet their needs effectively. You will report directly to the Regional Sales Manager, collaborating closely with the sales team to drive revenue and enhance customer satisfaction. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering technical presentations that explain our products and services to prospective customers and contractors. Your role will involve understanding customer requirements and providing tailored sales support. You will also assist clients in troubleshooting issues with installed equipment and recommend improvements that can lead to cost savings and increased production efficiency. A key aspect of your job will be to interpret technical drawings and specifications, ensuring that you can provide accurate and relevant information to clients. You will follow established sales strategies and processes to convert prospects into customers using our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. Your ability to develop fire and life safety solutions tailored to each prospect will be crucial. Time management skills will be essential as you prioritize activities that enhance your chances of meeting sales quotas while also focusing on the company's EBITDA expansion. Staying informed about the competition and understanding the purchasing decisions of our customers will be vital to your success. Additionally, you will work closely with marketing to ensure that our value proposition remains compelling and relevant. Your role will also involve gathering necessary information to make informed recommendations, persuasively selling ideas to gain support, and using effective communication techniques to negotiate successfully. Resilience under pressure and the ability to balance new requests with established priorities will be key traits for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers and contractors.
  • Collaborate with sales team to understand customer and contractor requirements and provide sales support.
  • Help clients solve problems with installed equipment.
  • Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, showing how changes will lower costs and increase production.
  • Understand how to interpret prints and drawings.
  • Follow the established sales strategy, processes and programs to shift prospects into new customers within the CertaSite Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
  • Develop fire and life safety solutions that are a fit for each targeted prospect.
  • Demonstrate efficient time management by spending time on activities that increase the chance of quota realization with a concern for EBITDA expansion, while also being value and mission driven.
  • Maintain the pulse on competition, as well as understand how the buyers of CertaSite products and services make purchasing decisions.
  • Drive revenue to CertaSite through prospects by establishing and selling solutions through the CertaSite platform of products and services.
  • Establish scale and profitability by helping professionalize the Company's go-to-market strategy and sales function.
  • Facilitate optimization of gross margin throughout the organization.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure the CertaSite value proposition and selling story remains relevant.
  • Gather all information needed to make informed recommendations.
  • Persuasively sell ideas to gain support and buy-in.
  • Use various communication techniques to gain cooperation in a negotiation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to remain resolute and resilient under stress.
  • Leverage contacts to stay informed of new company developments.
  • Balance new requests with established priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 7-10 years of progressive technical and industry sales experience.
  • Must have experience in Fire Alarm Industry sales.

  • Experience driving revenue and helping build strong GTM strategies.
  • Demonstrated track record of uncovering opportunities and advancing prospect opportunities to close by following a prescribed selling campaign process.
  • Strong orientation to delivering winning outcomes and possessing an emotional engine that is contagiously felt throughout the organization.
  • Proficiency in identifying high value prospects, running a disciplined sales campaign and converting prospects into customers.
