Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0 years of experience in the Fire Life Safety Industry, specifically in Fire Alarm, required.
• 1+ years of professional computer skills.
• Desire and ability to learn skills for promotion to a Fire Alarm & Security Technician.
• Ability to comply with SFS's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements.
• Efficient time management and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work with all levels of employees.
• Strong diligence and accuracy in work.
• Effective communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist Fire Alarm Superintendent with installation of conduit, low voltage wiring, control panels, and other fire alarm equipment.
• Keep tools available and in serviceable working condition on job site.
• Assist in cleaning job site, tools, and equipment.
• Carry equipment, such as ladders, tools, and replacement parts from vehicle or laydown area to required location.
• Learn and develop working knowledge of fire alarm and special hazards installation under various teaching practices.
• Read and learn NFPA 72 and NEC 70 to obtain NICET Certification and necessary skills for advancement.
• Understand and follow SFS's Safety program, SDS book, and Hazardous communication program.
• Participate in weekly Toolbox talks.
• Know where all related safety documentation is at all times on each project.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
