About The Position

The Fire Engineer position at Clark County involves responding to fire alarms, operating fire apparatus, and ensuring the effective delivery of firefighting services. Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or its educational equivalent.
  • Three years of experience at the Firefighter level.
  • AEMT certification/license.
  • Proof of passing the Fire Department's drivers certification test (CCFD Fire Engineer Academy Certificate).
  • Current driver's certification/CDR.
  • Current Class B or C with F Endorsement Driver's License or its equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fire apparatus and emergency response operations.
  • Knowledge of fire department rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to fire alarms as a vehicle driver.
  • Place vehicle in the most effective position for firefighting operations.
  • Hook up and connect hoses at the pump.
  • Operate the pump and ensure proper pressure and water flow.
  • Operate ladder or snorkel power lift and other required equipment.
  • Clean and service assigned apparatus and maintain equipment in ready condition.
  • Report mechanical failures or difficulties to a superior.
  • Assist in maintaining station log and preparing reports on equipment maintenance.
  • Prepare and update a fire map book showing fire districts and water hookups.
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning work in the upkeep of department equipment, apparatus, furnishings, and structures.
