About the position

The Fire & Life Safety Director (FLSD) is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of property and individuals within a designated area, primarily during weekend shifts. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring fire safety plans, ensuring compliance with fire safety codes, and coordinating with local fire departments and emergency responders. The director also performs security patrols and maintains a secure environment for guests and employees.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and monitor a fire safety plan.
• Ensure emergency procedures are in place for all buildings or properties.
• Work with local fire departments and emergency responders to create effective response plans.
• Perform security patrols to ensure safety and security of guests and property.
• Secure premises by monitoring surveillance equipment and inspecting buildings.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies.
• Complete reports by recording observations and surveillance activities.
• Maintain the environment by monitoring building and equipment controls.
• Comply with legal requirements to maintain the organization's stability and reputation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge and skill in operation of radio communications equipment.
• Knowledge of computerized security alarm systems and fire panels.
• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Valid F-89 or T89 License.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in hospitality (4 years required).
• Experience in customer service (4 years required).
