About the position

The Fire Operations Specialist at Ford Motor Company is responsible for enforcing and supporting fire protection standards and processes, focusing on compliance, prevention, inspection, testing, service, and maintenance at the site level. This role collaborates with various internal teams to manage risk and ensure operational efficiency while promoting a proactive culture in fire safety and security.

Responsibilities

  • Assure compliance with federal, state, and local laws at all Ford Motor Company sites.
  • Facilitate resolution of conflicts related to fire prevention and protection.
  • Resolve non-compliance issues effectively.
  • Provide quality assurance and expertise for inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection equipment.
  • Collaborate with site teams to ensure service and maintenance excellence.
  • Assist with project management for fire system installations and integrations.
  • Develop fire protection standards and audit compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Analyze service and inspection data, preparing reports for KPI metrics.
  • Perform routine fire prevention assessments to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors for rapid service response.
  • Act as the primary contact for public agencies regarding thermal events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Risk Management, Fire Science, or a related field.
  • Three years of fire protection experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire protection and prevention principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of fire codes and standards.
  • Experience with third-party service management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Decision-making skills under time constraints.
  • Customer-first mindset with attention to detail.
  • Initiative and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365).
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Incident Command system.
  • Experience with Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of fire protection systems.
  • Experience with Plan Review.
