About the position

The Fire Operations Specialist is responsible for enforcing and supporting fire protection standards and processes within Ford Motor Company. This role focuses on compliance, prevention, inspection, testing, service, and maintenance at the site level, ensuring adherence to company policies, local/national codes, and best practices. The specialist collaborates with various internal teams to manage risk and promote a proactive culture in fire safety and security.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce and support fire protection standards and processes at Ford sites.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy, local/national codes, and insurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Fire Protection Engineering and other internal teams.
  • Provide direction and leadership to manage risk effectively.
  • Support a proactive and consultative approach to fire safety.
  • Conduct routine fire prevention assessments to mitigate risks.
  • Facilitate resolution of non-compliance issues and conflicts.
  • Provide quality assurance for inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection equipment.
  • Assist with project management for fire system installations and integrations.
  • Analyze service and inspection data and prepare reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Risk Management, Fire Science, or a related field.
  • Three years of fire protection experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire protection and prevention principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of fire codes and standards.
  • Experience with third-party service management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under time constraints.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Incident Command system.
  • Experience with Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of fire protection systems.
  • Experience with Plan Review.
