About the position
The Fire Protection Inspector role at S.A. Comunale involves performing NFPA-based inspections of water-based fire systems and fire alarm systems. The position aims to grow inspection revenues while ensuring compliance with NFPA guidelines and maintaining customer satisfaction. The inspector will work in a fast-paced environment, focusing on quality performance and customer support, and will require travel to various customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic troubleshooting of wet-based fire systems and communicate findings to owners and service managers for repairs.
- Conduct inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30 to 40 feet as necessary.
- Perform annual inspections on both domestic and fire backflows.
- Monitor and ensure the progress and completion of all assigned tasks.
- Complete and submit all work tickets and inspection reports to administrative personnel in a timely manner.
- Self-schedule daily inspections.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational or industry trade school is a plus.
- Significant experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and scissors or articulating lifts required.
- Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues required.
- Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of wet, dry, foam, deluge, pre-action, standpipe, fire hydrants, and fire pumps required.
- Knowledge of NFPA codes that support each fire system required, including NFPA 25 and NFPA 72 inspections.
Nice-to-haves
- Perform NFPA 72 based inspections on fire alarm systems, including all components of those systems.
- Individual backflow license and NICET Level II in water-based or fire alarm systems.
