About the position
The Fire Safety Specialist at UniFirst First Aid + Safety is responsible for training team members in the inspection, service, repair, and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and emergency/exit lighting systems. This role involves providing technical support, conducting customer audits, and promoting fire services and products to expand the customer base. Responsibilities
- Train team members in portable fire extinguisher and emergency/exit lighting service and inspection tasks.
- Provide technical support for portable fire extinguishers and emergency/exit lighting to team members.
- Assist team members with monthly and annual inspections to maintain compliance with NFPA 10 code.
- Conduct customer onsite audits and provide quotes for fire services.
- Present and demonstrate fire-related products/services to customers.
- Drive a company vehicle to customer locations daily.
- Clean and maintain all equipment, including the van and tools.
- Complete required reporting and billing using electronic devices.
- Utilize fire service inspection software and provide training to team members.
- Meet with management to discuss goals and objectives.
- Work with internal resources to increase the fire services base.
- Order supplies as needed.
- Provide ongoing support for customers to maintain OSHA and NFPA compliance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record is required.
- NPFA Extinguisher Certification/License is required.
- Fire Extinguisher License (if required by state, county, and/or city).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in sales and upselling fire/safety-related products and services is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills for scheduling.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
