About the position

The Fire Safety Specialist at UniFirst First Aid + Safety is responsible for training team members in the inspection, service, repair, and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and emergency/exit lighting systems. This role involves providing technical support, conducting customer audits, and promoting fire services and products to expand the customer base. The position offers a structured work schedule with opportunities for career growth and a supportive family culture.

Responsibilities

  • Train team members in portable fire extinguisher and emergency/exit lighting service and inspection tasks.
  • Provide technical support for portable fire extinguishers and emergency/exit lighting to team members.
  • Assist team members with monthly and annual inspections to maintain compliance with NFPA 10 code.
  • Conduct customer onsite audits and provide quotes for fire services.
  • Present and demonstrate fire-related products/services to customers.
  • Drive a company vehicle to customer locations daily.
  • Clean and maintain all equipment, including the van and tools.
  • Complete required reporting and billing using electronic devices.
  • Utilize fire service inspection software and provide training to team members.
  • Meet with management to discuss goals and objectives.
  • Work with internal resources to increase the fire services base.
  • Order supplies as needed.
  • Provide ongoing support for customers to maintain OSHA and NFPA compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record is required.
  • NPFA Extinguisher Certification/License is required.
  • Fire Extinguisher License (if required by state, county, and/or city).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in sales and upselling fire/safety-related products and services is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for scheduling.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

  • Experience in sales and upselling additional fire/safety-related products and services is highly preferred.
