About the position

The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This role ensures that all systems operate effectively and comply with safety regulations and local codes. The technician will work closely with clients to provide updates and recommendations, while also responding to emergency service requests.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems, including piping, sprinkler heads, valves, and related equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with fire sprinkler systems, performing repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and inspection checklists, documenting system issues and repairs.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain services performed and provide maintenance recommendations.
  • Respond to emergency service requests related to fire sprinkler systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with fire sprinkler systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Valid Fire Sprinkler Technician License or certification from a recognized training program (e.g., NICET Level I, II, or higher) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 codes and regulations.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and power tools.
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service and professional client interaction.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
