About the position

We are looking for an experienced leader in the fire protection industry to manage our Fire Sprinkler Systems Installation & Repair team. This full-time role involves overseeing multiple fire system installations, repairs, and modifications while coordinating with various stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the bidding process, mentor junior personnel, and contribute to the team's development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation and repair of fire sprinkler and ancillary systems in accordance with NFPA standards.
  • Perform periodic fire system inspections per NFPA 25.
  • Provide recommendations and repairs for fire protection systems as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and operational product manuals for fire protection systems installation.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on proposals and bids for new installations or repairs.
  • Mentor and train junior team members in the field.
  • Assist Field Service personnel with testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting fire sprinkler systems and fire pumps.
  • Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs as necessary.
  • Prepare compliance reports, including deficiency remediations and jurisdictional authority compliance reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, providing advice on fire safety matters.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in installation/service/troubleshooting Fire Sprinkler and Ancillary Fire Protection Systems.
  • 2+ years of experience overseeing/managing projects/construction crews.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and tools.
  • State of Oregon Fire Sprinkler Certification or City of Portland Automatic Sprinkler System Installation Certification.
  • State of Oregon Level III and/or Journey Pipefitter certification, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of starting.
  • Great attention to detail and documentation precision.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead junior team members.
  • Proficiency in installation/servicing of fixed fire suppression systems is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA codes and local fire codes.
  • ICC certification(s) is a plus.
  • NICET II or higher certification is a plus.
  • Backflow certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fire extinguishers is a plus.
