About the position

The Firearms Sales Associate at Rural King is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and expertise in firearms and related accessories. This role involves engaging with customers to understand their needs, ensuring compliance with firearms regulations, and maintaining an organized sales environment. The associate will also contribute to a positive shopping experience by offering expert guidance and building long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Engage customers to understand their needs and preferences.
• Provide expert guidance and unbiased product recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with all firearms sales laws and regulations.
• Complete required firearm compliance training and understand Firearms SOP.
• Assist customers in selecting ammunition and accessories.
• Maintain an organized and visually appealing firearms display area.
• Process transactions accurately and handle necessary documentation.
• Stay updated on current firearm trends and industry news.
• Address customer concerns and provide resolutions or escalate as needed.
• Establish long-term relationships with customers for repeat business.
• Demonstrate product features and conduct demonstrations.
• Utilize upselling and cross-selling techniques to maximize sales.
• Promote exclusive offers and store loyalty programs.
• Process special orders and resolve return issues.
• Contribute to visual merchandising efforts and maintain a clean sales floor.
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments.
• Engage in learning initiatives to acquire new knowledge and skills.
• Provide proactive support to internal and external inquiries.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in firearms safety is a plus.
• Previous experience in firearms sales or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of firearms sales laws and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to actively listen and provide articulate responses.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in using computer systems for transactions.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe shopping environment.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
