About the position

Mission 94 is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable Back of House Clerk & Compliance Specialist to play a pivotal role in our firearm store operations. This position will be responsible for maintaining overseeing paperwork processing, invoicing, bill paying and ensuring strict adherence to firearm regulations and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of firearms, regulations, and meticulous attention to detail. In this role, you will facilitate the completion of required paperwork for firearm purchases, transfers, and background checks. It is essential to ensure that all processes adhere to federal, state, and local regulations governing firearm sales and transfers. You will verify the accuracy and completeness of paperwork to prevent compliance issues and stay current with evolving firearm regulations, updating store procedures accordingly. Additionally, you will process and manage all billing, invoicing, taxes, and payroll among other operational tasks as needed, performing regular paperwork audits to reconcile discrepancies and maintain accuracy. You will also maintain organized records of transactions, paperwork, and compliance-related documents, generating reports as needed to track inventory levels, sales trends, and compliance metrics. Preparing customer orders for pickup or shipping, verifying order accuracy and proper documentation, and coordinating with sales and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless order fulfillment will be part of your responsibilities. Ensuring all shipping and transfer processes are in compliance with applicable regulations is crucial. As the point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from staff and customers, you will train and educate staff on compliance requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of regulations. Conducting internal audits to identify potential compliance gaps and recommending corrective actions will also be part of your duties. Finally, you will assist with administrative tasks, including filing, record-keeping, and maintaining records of firearm repairs and warranties, supporting the management team in implementing compliance-related policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or relevant certifications preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of firearm regulations, paperwork processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and paperwork processing.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and data entry.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data analysis.
  • Responsible and ethical conduct when dealing with firearms and sensitive compliance information.
