The City of Bangor, Maine Fire Department is accepting applications to fill immediate openings for Firefighter positions. The Bangor Fire Department is the second largest professional fire department in the State of Maine, protecting a city of 31,000 that is rich in history and is the commercial and social center of Northern, Central, and Eastern Maine. 88 personnel work an attractive schedule of 1 day on, 1 day off, 1 day on, 5 days off with no forced overtime or residency requirement. In addition to providing fire protection and emergency medical services, Bangor Fire provides a variety of other response/services including a Heavy Rescue that provides technical rescue capabilities within the region, a marine response with 2 boats including the only fire boat in the region, opportunities to serve on the Police Department's Special Response Team, and EMS support to large events at the Maine Savings Amphitheater and the Cross Insurance Center.
