About the position

The First Article Quality Inspector at PROWORKS SERVICES INC. is responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards and specifications through rigorous inspection and testing processes. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprints, GD&T, and quality assurance standards, particularly in the aerospace manufacturing sector. The inspector will work closely with the Quality Supervisor and Quality Engineer to report defects, maintain quality records, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out and coordinates all inspection and test requirements as outlined in the Quality Procedure Manual and contract requirements including compliance with AS 9100.
  • Maintains relevant updated specification, standard and quality systems documents.
  • Performs assigned tests on materials and parts, product in process, and finished product.
  • Inspects visually for obvious defects.
  • Compares results with drawing and specification requirements.
  • Reports problems with inspection and test results to Quality Supervisor.
  • Identifies defectives and segregates from acceptable product.
  • Notifies Quality Supervisor and Quality Engineer when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.
  • Records results on inspection forms or charts and reports number of defects found.
  • Makes recommendations on disposition of suspect/defective product to Quality Supervisor.
  • Supports the quality record retention requirements by assisting with filing and maintenance of Quality Records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Minimum of three years successful employment as an individual contributor with a preference for aerospace manufacturing
  • Experience in Quality Assurance
  • 1 year of GD&T experience
  • 1 year of blueprint reading experience
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience
  • 1 year of AS9100 experience
  • 1 year of calibration requirements experience
  • 1 year of quality assurance experience
  • 2 years of First Article experience
  • 2 years of quality inspection experience
  • 2 years of CMMS experience
  • 2 years of 3D scanner experience
  • 2 years of FARO experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Aerospace experience
  • Knowledge of calibration requirements/procedures
  • Proficiency with computer-based applications, especially Microsoft Excel
