About the position

The First Mortgage Secondary Market Analyst plays a crucial role in the First Mortgage Fulfillment team at S3, focusing on all aspects of Secondary Marketing. This position involves managing investor relationships, ensuring accurate loan pricing, executing rate locks, and facilitating the timely delivery and sale of loans to investors. The analyst will collaborate closely with Credit Union partners and various internal teams to maintain the integrity of the loan pricing process and meet investor commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy of mortgage pricing in the Loan Origination System (LOS).
  • Process initial rate locks, repricing, extension, and change requests in the LOS according to established guidelines.
  • Register and lock loans with private investors as required.
  • Collaborate with First Mortgage Collateral Specialists for successful delivery and shipment of investor loan sales.
  • Monitor investor loan sale commitments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with commitment deadlines.
  • Generate funding reports and reconcile funding numbers for loans scheduled to fund.
  • Manage exception requests and approvals on individual loans per established guidelines.
  • Support sales and operations teams with pricing inquiries and rate lock questions.
  • Monitor daily updates of mortgage pricing by partner credit unions to ensure accurate pricing information.
  • Verify pricing structure meets Ability-to-Repay (APR) and Quality Mortgage (QM) requirements.
  • Complete tasks by required due dates to manage the loan pipeline effectively.

Requirements

  • 2 years of First Mortgage experience with an understanding of mortgage loan pricing.
  • Knowledge of RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and CFPB requirements.
  • Familiarity with agency (FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA) guidelines and requirements.
  • Knowledge of First Mortgage operations and Mortgage Cadence LOS preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data accurately.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload.

  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae Loan Delivery and Freddie Mac Loan Selling Suite.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work flexible hours.
