The First Shift Team Lead at FITT, USA Inc. is responsible for overseeing assembly line and extrusion operators to ensure optimal productivity, efficiency, and quality in manufacturing processes. This role involves communicating work priorities, managing production targets, mentoring employees, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The Team Lead will also handle reporting, problem-solving, and cross-training team members while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and company policies.
  • Manage Assembly Line Operators and Extrusion Operators.
  • Ensure the shift is stocked for production, accessories, and packaging.
  • Meet with employees at the start of the shift to communicate production targets and safety focus.
  • Print production orders for the current day and the next day.
  • Mentor employees to report and record safety incidents timely.
  • Manage people in coordination with Production Management, especially during supervisor absence.
  • Support newer technicians in learning the extrusion and assembly processes.
  • Liaise with the Planning Department.
  • Act as Operator In Charge for the shift under his/her direction.
  • Operate extruder machines when needed to cover absences.
  • Ensure communication with the maintenance team as repairs or machine calibrations are needed.
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that accurately depict warehouse processes.
  • Follow work instructions to consume materials effectively and efficiently.
  • Fully apply control plan inspections, procedures, records, reaction plans, and escalation processes.
  • Oversee inspection, separation, and control of non-conforming material.
  • May require occasional overtime or weekend work.
  • May need to flex to work different shift hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years' experience managing others to achieve production goals in a warehouse setting.
  • 3+ years' experience in warehouse operations.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency with touch screens and computer applications.
  • LOTO (lockout/tagout) application experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience plus some college coursework.
