About the position

The First Year Experience Onboarding Specialist is responsible for coordinating strategies to guide and support first-year college students during their onboarding process. This role focuses on enhancing student engagement, persistence, and retention, while promoting pathways toward full registration and payment. The specialist will engage with various departments within the college to develop coordinated strategies that facilitate students' entry and transition into the college environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and conducts the New Student Onboarding sessions regularly in coordination with the enrollment cycle.
  • Assists potential students through the enrollment funnel.
  • Partners with placement testing, financial aid, academic advising, and registration to support students through the enrollment funnel.
  • Records activity outcomes, maintains contact lists and databases, and analyzes data.
  • Conducts and/or provides support for onboarding students' activities including meeting with potential students and parents to discuss the college enrollment process as needed.
  • Interfaces or networks with appropriate internal and external parties to assist potential students.
  • Represents CCAC by conducting presentations to student and parent groups.
  • Conducts campus tours/meetings to prospective students as needed.
  • Maintains contact with the academic departments, career services, continuing education, and college centers to remain current about new programs, program changes, and other information critical to the successful recruitment of new students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years' experience in a sales, customer service, marketing and/or customer-facing position, or an Associate's degree and three years' experience in a sales, customer service, marketing and/or customer-facing position.
  • Experience working in higher education or admissions is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting to meet expected goals.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Valid transportation is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel to any of the College's campuses or centers.
