About the position

The First-Year Student Success Advisor at North Idaho College is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing comprehensive New Student Orientation programs for incoming students. This role is crucial in guiding new students through their first year at the college, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize New Student Orientation programs.
  • Guide new students through their first year at North Idaho College.
  • Conduct effective training and presentations for students.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance student success initiatives.
  • Utilize student records systems to track student progress and needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time equivalent related experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic skills using student records system (Colleague preferred).
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in academic advising or student services.
  • Familiarity with higher education policies and procedures.
