About the position

The Firstmark Operational Analyst III position at Nelnet focuses on providing tier 1 support to the Consumer Loans back-office and client services teams. The role involves system configuration, reporting, and creating necessary documentation to enhance operational efficiency. The analyst will also participate in projects aimed at continuous process improvement and risk mitigation, ensuring that the organization meets its performance goals.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs.
• Act as a subject matter expert for repeatable processes.
• Identify and resolve Tier 1 issues with support.
• Manage multiple conflicting priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
• Present materials and reports to a wide range of audiences.
• Collaborate with other analysts and management to conduct analysis and solve routine and chronic problems.
• Acquire knowledge in systems and processes.
• Create and maintain documentation for system functionality, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in and facilitate Consumer Loan projects to improve departmental operations.
• Actively engage in projects and initiatives with the leadership team.
• Train within the department for general and orientation modules.
• Learn basics of and participate in CPI projects.
• Commit to Performance Based Organization (PBO) and Easy to Do Business with (ETDBW) philosophy.
• Contribute to Continuous Process Improvement.

Requirements

• 4-year college degree preferred.
• 3-4 years of experience in an analytical, student loan, technical, problem-solving, or project management position (Required).
• Some experience with database concepts and simple query language (SQL) preferred.
• Some experience with report writing tools preferred, specifically Crystal reports (Business Objects).
• Some experience with project management on small to medium projects preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Moderate understanding of Crystal and Snowflake reporting.
• Moderate understanding of Jira and Confluence.
• Beginning understanding of SQL language.
