About the position

The Fiscal Analyst 3 position at the Washington State Office of the Attorney General's Office is a permanent full-time role within the Financial Services Division. This senior-level position involves processing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the agency's financial health. The role may also include in-training opportunities from the Fiscal Analyst 2 level, allowing for career progression within the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Review, monitor, and reconcile accounts.
  • Monitor and review AFRS transactions for accuracy and completeness before interfacing into the AFRS system.
  • Ensure all payment documents, transfers, and journal voucher corrections are accurately reflected in the financial reporting system.
  • Perform daily audits of transactions and cash management activity to maintain clear and accurate data in the accounting system.
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain automated systems for the Attorney General's Office legal services account.
  • Record, reconcile, and report revenue balances for each client agency, board, and commission.
  • Create computer-generated spreadsheets for financial reconciliations, tracking, and reporting.
  • Process daily cash receipts and disbursements to determine appropriate agency program recoveries.
  • Monitor, audit, post, and reconcile local account activity.
  • Provide assistance to Lead FA4 to ensure proper posting of all cash management activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and two to three years of relevant professional experience.
  • A Master's degree in a financial-related field or certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager, or Management Accountant can substitute for professional experience.

Nice-to-haves
