About the position

The Fiscal & Business Analyst II position at the University of South Florida's Morsani College of Medicine involves managing fiscal tasks for the Heart Institute, including financial planning, forecasting, and reporting. The role supports research endeavors by providing administrative support and ensuring compliance with budgetary requirements. The analyst will also assist with procurement, travel requests, and the planning of USF Health Research Day, while providing training and governance to staff members.

Responsibilities

• Process P.O. requests, including punchout orders in Bull Marketplace and contract requests.
• Ensure that all requests are assigned to the appropriate chartfields and that they have appropriate funding.
• Provide financial forecasting on accounts as necessary.
• Act as back-up for reconciling PCard statements and processing monthly activity statements for Heart Institute members.
• Assist with travel-related requests for the Heart Institute as necessary.
• Maintain Heart Institute financial reports, including department monthly reconciliations for multiple accounts.
• Complete monthly projections and assist with preparing the all-source budget and other reports.
• Oversee monthly departmental auxiliary billing for cores.
• Conduct monthly analyses to monitor spending and compliance.
• Process expenditure transfer requests as needed.
• Assist in planning USF Health's annual Research Day.
• Provide leadership by training and coaching staff members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or related field.
• 2-4 years of fiscal related work experience; or a Bachelor's degree in no specific required field and three years of fiscal related work experience; or five years fiscal related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• At least 1 year of university and/or research fiscal and business experience.
