About the position

The Fiscal Grants and Revenue Cycle Accountant is responsible for maintaining, recording, and reporting on Grants and Programs within a non-profit organization. This full-time position involves managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial analysis to support the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial closing process and maintain the NetSuite finance system.
  • Oversee the financial closing cycle process, including controls, target dates, and responsibilities related to Grants and Programs.
  • Monitor standard and non-standard journal entries related to Grants and Programs.
  • Document accruals, estimates, and assumptions across the finance department.
  • Perform direct account reconciliations related to Grants and Programs.
  • Maintain, record, and report on Grants and Programs budget and actual results.
  • Support allocation drivers and metrics for Grants and Programs.
  • Execute financial integrity for actual to budget/forecast reporting and analysis.
  • Coordinate the Financial Planning and Analysis function related to Grants and Programs.
  • Participate in the preparation and analysis of financial results to understand organizational performance.
  • Support the annual audit processes and preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Coordinate audits by various stakeholders including donors and banks.
  • Execute financial controls to ensure data integrity related to Grants and Programs.
  • Contribute to cash management reports and analysis.
  • Support the reconciliation of bank and investment accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 8+ years of related nonprofit experience required.
  • Hands-on experience in financial management and accounting.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel and comfort with digital technology and office applications.
  • Experience with complex charts of accounts and advanced accounting software like NetSuite.
