About the position

The Fiscal Services Chief II (Chief Financial Officer) is responsible for managing and directing the fiscal affairs of Springfield Hospital Center. This role is crucial for ensuring that the hospital operates efficiently and within fiscal constraints, aligning with its mission and objectives. The CFO will oversee the accounting office, develop and implement policies, prepare the annual operating budget, manage budget expenditures and revenues, and ensure compliance through statistical reporting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Direct operations of the Accounting Office
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement policies and procedures
  • Prepare the annual operating budget
  • Manage operating budget expenditures and revenues
  • Conduct statistical and analytical reporting for special projects
  • Oversee internal controls and audits

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 30 credit hours in accounting and related courses
  • Four years of experience examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting systems
  • Possession of a CPA certificate or a Master's degree in accounting may substitute for one year of experience
  • One year of supervisory or managerial experience is required

  • Experience with equipment and supply inventory functions
  • Experience with management of timekeeping functions for over 500 employees
  • Experience working with FMIS, the State's Financial Management Information System
  • Experience with preparing the annual operating budget for a hospital center serving over 200 patients
  • Experience with evaluating and developing the performance of fiscal service supervisory and support staff
