About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Springfield Hospital Center is responsible for managing and directing the fiscal affairs of the hospital. This role is crucial for ensuring that the hospital operates efficiently and within its financial constraints, aligning with its mission to achieve its goals and objectives. The CFO will oversee the accounting office, develop and implement financial policies, prepare the annual operating budget, manage budget expenditures and revenues, and conduct statistical and analytical reporting for special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Direct operations of the Accounting Office
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Prepare the annual operating budget
  • Manage operating budget expenditures and revenues
  • Conduct statistical and analytical reporting for special projects
  • Ensure internal controls and audits are in place

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 30 credit hours in accounting and related courses
  • Four years of experience examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting systems and records
  • Supervisory or managerial experience (1 year)

  • Experience with fiscal compliance audits
  • Experience with equipment and supply inventory functions
  • Experience managing timekeeping functions for over 500 employees
  • Experience with FMIS (Financial Management Information System)
  • Experience preparing the annual operating budget for a hospital center serving over 200 patients
  • Experience evaluating and developing performance of fiscal service supervisory and support staff
